I’ve Seen What Works.
I’ve Lived What Doesn’t.

Who I Am

I am Elina Briezkalne, a Strategic Operations & Clarity Partner based in Kamloops, BC. I work with high-touch service providers and human-centered businesses across Canada and select global clients, helping them build the business structure that lets them stay fully present with the people they serve.

My background is in communications, journalism, and translation. I studied interpreting and translation in Latvia before moving to Canada, where I completed a certificate in Communications, Culture  and Journalism Studies at the Okanagan College. I have been embedded in communications, storytelling, and organization in one form or another my entire working life.

Growth Through Grounding, Not Hustle

For years, I worked as a virtual assistant doing the exact operations work I now offer as a strategic partner. I organized systems, built workflows, and documented processes for business after business. And I watched.

I watched what happened when documentation was missing. I watched how a clear, mapped-out workflow changed someone’s entire week. I watched people spend real time in genuine panic looking for something they knew they had but simply could not find. That experience taught me more than any course ever could.

When I started building The Wild Amber in late 2024, I thought I knew exactly what to do. I had watched enough clients stumble to know what not to do. And then I stumbled anyway; because building something for yourself is a completely different challenge than building it for someone else. I had to untangle my own thinking, make my own hard decisions, and figure out what I actually wanted this business to look like.

That first year and a half was my most honest education. I took everything—my communications background, my journalism instincts, my translation training, my years as a VA, and my own very real stumbles—and I asked: what actually works? What genuinely serves people? What do I refuse to do? The Wild Amber is the answer to those questions.

Why Human-Centered Businesses

Throughout my life, I have met passionate people who pour themselves into their communities—people who chose their work because they genuinely care, not because it was the fastest path to profit. What I noticed is that these are the people most likely to be carrying the weight of an unstructured back-end, precisely because their energy goes toward the people they serve, not toward building systems for themselves.

I also believe—deeply—that human-centered businesses are the soul of a community. They are usually locally owned, locally run, and operated by people who live among the people they serve. So I built my practice to support the people who make communities worth living in.

Why Wild Amber?

“Amber” honors my Latvian roots. In Latvia, amber is more than a gemstone. It is a symbol of grounding, stability, and resilience, shaped over centuries and washed ashore by the sea. It represents the calm, steady systems we build together to protect your energy and your work.

“Wild” captures the courage it takes to run a business on your own terms. It takes boldness to step away from the noise, trust that depth matters more than speed, and build something that genuinely reflects your values.

Together, Wild Amber is that balance: the courage to do things differently, held steady by the structure to make it last.
