Who I Am, and What I Do
I am Elina Briezkalne. I run The Wild Amber from Kamloops, BC, and I work remotely.
I am a business consultant with a twist: I find what needs doing, and then I do it with you.
I have been embedded in communications, storytelling and organization in one form or another my entire working life. My training runs from translation and interpreting through to communications and journalism. All of it comes down to one skill: taking something complicated and handing it back in words someone can actually use.
Most people arrive telling me they don't know where to start. Then they talk, and it turns out they do know and it is all there. It is just tangled.
Your words, ideas, and current setup are where I start.
From there I do the research, check it against real sources, and bring you recommendations with the reasoning showing.
Then I put the whole thing in order.
I always ask how many hours you really have for the business, not how many you wish you had. Then I build the steps to fit. If you have one hour a week, you get something you can finish in an hour.

Growth Through Grounding
For years I worked as a virtual assistant, doing the same operations work I now do through The Wild Amber. I organized systems, built workflows, documented processes, business after business. And I watched.
I watched what happened when nothing was written down. I watched one clear workflow change somebody's whole week. And I watched people spend real time in genuine panic, looking for something they knew they had and simply could not find.
When I started The Wild Amber in late 2024, I thought I knew exactly what to do. I had watched enough people stumble to know what not to do. Then I stumbled anyway, because building something for yourself is nothing like building it for somebody else. I had to untangle my own thinking, make my own hard calls, and work out what I actually wanted this to be.
That is the part I would not trade. When I sit with someone who is deep in their own business and cannot see it clearly, I am not watching from outside. I have been there, and recently.
Who I Work With
Small service businesses at a turning point. Either you are laying the foundation for the first time, or you have grown past the setup that used to carry you. Usually that is one person, or a small team, running something they care about. The field is never what decides it. The person is:

Why Wild Amber?
Amber is Latvian, and it is where I come from. It washes up on the shores of our Baltic Sea: ancient, warm, formed slowly under pressure, holding on to whatever it caught. At home it means grounding and resilience.
Wild is the other half. The courage it took to stop doing business the way I was told to and build something on my own terms.
Together they say what I am before I have said anything.
